Located at the
north end of the Pinellas peninsula, Dunedin is
coastal city with a small town feel. This city
has a strong Scottish heritage which is reflected
in several areas of town and various community
activities. Dunedin is minutes from the gulf beaches
and the local islands of Caladesi and Sand Key,
which have each been called two of the "Best
Natural Beaches in the United States". Dunedin
is also just a 40 minute drive from USF-Tampa.
Housing
Dunedin has a lot of options when it comes to
housing. There are many well-established single-family
home neighborhoods that are very family-friendly.
There are also many apartment complexes able to
suite any price range. Many housing and apartment
communities are in wooded or subtropical areas
and there are many waterfront lots or lots with
views of the gulf. Things
To Do
One of the best outdoor attractions in Dunedin
is Caladesi Island State Park, which is accessible
by ferry from Honeymoon Island, features nature
trails, beautiful beaches, picnic areas and more.
Another great recreational attraction in Dunedin
is the Pinellas Trail, a 15-foot wide linear road
that runs 47 miles through St. Petersburg, Clearwater
and Tampa and is a popular choice for walking,
jogging, biking, rollerblading or exploring nature.
Golf courses include the public Dunedin Country
Club and St. Andrews Links, and the private On
Top of the World Golf Club and the nearby Countryside
Country Club.
Indoor entertainment includes the Muvico Palm
Harbor 10 and the Clearwater Cinema Cafe which
features a full menu and serves alcoholic beverages.
Dunedin is also just a few minutes from Ruth Eckerd
Hall which hosts a wide variety of concerts and
stage productions.
Dunedin is home to the Annual Highland Games and
many other community festivals. Dining
and Shopping
Downtown Dunedin has numerous specialty shops
and boutiques as well as some interesting restaurants
and bars. Additional shopping and restaurants
are available in the nearby Westfield Countryside
Mall.

and many more. Traffic
and Driving
While there are no major interstates that run
through Dunedin, Highway US 19 is easily accessible
from anywhere in the city and travels north to
Palm Harbor and south to Clearwater. Tampa Road
can also be taken east into Tampa as well as Gulf
to Bay Boulevard which turns into the Courtney
Campbell Causeway that travels over the bay into
Tampa. Schools
Public schools include Curtis Fundamental Elementary
School, Garrison-Jones Elementary School, San
Jose Elementary, Dunedin Elementary, Dunedin Highland
Middle and Dunedin High. Private schools include
Dunedin Academy, Our Lady of Lourdes, Anchor Academy,
Schiller International, Trinity Christian and
Cornerstone Christian. Colleges in the area include
Eckerd College, St. Petersburg College, Everest
University and Zion Christian University.
Business
Dunedin’s commerce is driven by the service
industry, tourism, retail, financial institutions
and services, health care, real estate and manufacturing.
Dunedin’s downtown district encourages business
